2024 Co-Presidents

Tanvi Dhariwal

Hello! I’m Tanvi, a third year JD student and one of FAME's Co-Presidents for 2024. I love pop culture, rom coms, social justice and classic lit!

Before the JD, I worked at art galleries and museums while developing my own art practice. I have been experimenting with drawing and painting my entire life and am currently exploring how to visually manifest the societal pathology of modern and contemporary South Asia. I also paint pictures of my friends’ cats and pomegranates.

Come say hi if you see me around!

Eliza Carey

Hello! I’m Eliza, your 2024 FAME Co-President!

I am truly honoured to step into this role for 2024. Since joining FAME in 2022 as an Ambassador, I’ve always felt part of a vibrant, nurturing, and thought-provoking community of friends who share a passion for the arts and its intersection with the law.

My background in dance and film fuels my love for music and all things related to the arts. Through my journey with FAME LSA, I’ve developed a keen interest in Media Law and Intellectual Property, recognising the powerful influence of law in our media and arts sectors.

Stay tuned for the exciting events the team and I have planned for 2024 – it’s going to be an amazing year!

2024 Secretary & Treasurer

Lewis Ironside

Heya, my names Lewis (he/him), a second year JD student and FAME’s Secretary for 2024. I have a keen interest in art crime as well as artefact ownership and repatriation.

Unlike some of our other very talented members of FAME, I’m much more of a consumer of the arts rather than a creator. I particularly love going to art galleries and listening to music.

FAME has so much awesome stuff happening this year, so I’m super excited to get involved and meet so many new faces interested in the intersection of art and the law!

Victoria Tishchenko

Heyo! My name is Victoria (she/her), a 2nd year JD student and the Treasurer for FAME this year.

After being a basso last year, I decided to help FAME grow further, so here I am! My interests include reading (mostly for the Goodreads drama), as well as film and fashion (by fashion I mean forcing my cats to wear Build a Bear outfits). I am super interested in IP, specifically its crossover with technology and am excited that this year, FAME will bring about initiatives that speak to these interests!

2024 Careers and Sponsorship & Engagement Directors

Alice Dimitroulis

Hello! My name is Alice and I am FAME’s 2024 Careers Director!

I have a strong passion for music, with the hope of working in the music and entertainment law sector. My favourite genre would have to be Rock and my favourite artist is Tame Impala. I love going to gigs around Melbourne when I can. Otherwise I spend my free time playing guitar, trying to learn songs way out of my skill set. I hope to build more connections in the film, arts and media entertainment industry this year with FAME to learn more about how law intersects with my creative interests! I’m looking forward to the year ahead and working together with all the awesome members of FAME!

Lilly Girardet

Hey there! I’m Lilly, a second year JD student and the Engagement Director for 2024. As a first year in 2023, I attended many FAME events and had such a good time that I wanted to get more involved with the committee. I have some fun and interesting events planned for 2024, so stay tuned!

A bit about me: I’m from New Zealand and moved here for Uni in 2020, completing my undergrad at Unimelb in Criminology and Psychology. While I’m not talented when it comes to any form of creative or artistic expression, I love to consume media by watching movies and tv shows with my friends. I am currently watching the new series Fallout which I am loving so far. I also spend a lot of my spare time reading books and love to discuss those books with others! My favourite genre lately has been fantasy :))

If you see me around the law school or at FAME events, please please come say hi <33

2024 Communications Director & Honorary Member

Róisín Whelan

Hey! My name is Róisín and I am the Communications Director for 2024! I loved my time as a Basso so much last year that I welcomed the opportunity to return to FAME as a committee member. I am so excited to spearhead our comms across all our social media platforms to spread the word about the amazing events and initiatives we have in motion for this year.

I am a third year JD student with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing & Media and Communications. During my undergraduate, I discovered a passion for screenwriting where I wrote a short film, TV pilot and a feature film script! I learnt so much about the entertainment business and have since decided to align my career with the industry in any way possible - whether that be in Intellectual Property, Media or Entertainment Law.

You’ll find me nearly every week at Cinema Nova on discount Monday’s to catch new film releases. I also replace all measures of time with whenever a new HBO series is slated for release.

I can’t wait to dive into what we have in store for FAME 2024!

Amy Alexander

¡Hola! My name is Amy and I am FAME’s Honorary Member for 2024.

A little bit about me: With an academic background in science, I have a keen interest in the intersection of technology and the arts. Alongside my law studies, I enjoy writing poetry and short-form fiction… and in my spare time, I love learning about fashion and design.

Watching our association grow over the past few years has been a wonderful experience. I am beyond proud to be part of such a talented and inspiring team.

I am thrilled to stay on board as this year’s Honorary Member, and I look forward to supporting our committee’s fabulous initiatives!

2024 Ambassadors

Alli Jasmine

Hi hello, my name is Alli and I’m a third year/penultimate JD student with a background in Media & Communications and Creative Writing.

Before returning to study the JD, I found my creative outlet in the beauty industry/makeup artistry, and as a freelance content specialist within the nutrition and fitness space. When I am not chasing my tail with uni and/or prepping for a bodybuilding show, you’ll find me deep in the trenches of reddit dissecting the lyrics between the Kendrick v Drake feud, setting my alarm at ungodly hours to watch an F1 race, searching for the best batch brew, consuming pop culture podcasts on my runs and walks, reading the likes of Ben Lerner and curating my heavy metal or early 2000s playlist (the range, I know).

I am so excited to be involved with FAME and to learn more about the intersection between law and creatives in the entertainment space. Also, my creative spark has needed some much-needed love since beginning this degree! So excited to meet you all x

Alexis Loh

Hello! I’m Alexis and I’m a first-year JD student with a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Politics.

I’m excited to get involved in FAME and all the events we’ve got planned for the rest of the year. Before joining the JD, I was working in social media and brand management.

I joined FAME because I have a strong interest in all things media and look forward to combining that with law. Outside of law school, I love pilates and bidding for clothes on Buyee and selling clothes online. I also love listening to podcasts including Going Mental with Eileen Kelly and Huberman Lab. Please come say hi if you see me around!

Maggie Orr

Hi there! I’m Maggie, one of your FAME Ambassadors for 2024!

I’m a first year JD student interested in music, performing arts and entertainment law.

Before starting the JD, I was down the road at Unimelb Southbank where I studied a Bachelor of Music majoring in classical voice with some German on the side.

I’ve always loved the performing and in my spare time I love soaking up all the arts and culture that Melbourne has to offer.

I’m super excited to be a FAME ambassador this year and can’t wait to meet you at our upcoming events!

Sonia Li

Hi! My name is Sonia (she/her) and I am one of FAME’s ambassadors this year! I am a 2nd year JD Student and have completed a Bachelor of Arts (Politics & International Studies) and Music Diploma (Classical Voice Performance).

I’ve been an artist since I was (very) young, spanning from classical piano, guitar, ballet, musical theatre, and music production! My music has taken me overseas to compete in international singing competitions and releasing music (you can find my music on Spotify! New music in the works…). In my spare time however, you’ll often find me rewatching Studio Ghibli films. curating super niche Spotify playlists, or at any concert/music festival (I go to too many).

I’m excited to explore the intersection of my creative and law interests here at FAME, through amazing industry and community events, particularly in IP and Tech law. Hope to see you all around the law school!

Niray Shah

Hi! I’m Niray, and I’m one the 2024 FAME ambassadors for 2024!

I’m currently a first year JD student and I just finished a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in history and politics.

I’ve been playing the piano since I was in primary school, and love listening to just about any genre of music.

I’m excited to be a part of FAME this year. Feel free to say hi if you see me around the law school!

Rita Lee

Hi! My name is Rita, one of your 2024 FAME Ambassadors!

I’m a first year JD student and have completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance here at the University of Melbourne.

Prior to my commerce degree, I have spent a few years studying fashion design so my interests revolve around design. I’m also interested in intellectual property and entertainment law so I’m keen to learn more about how it operates within the design industry. During my free time I enjoy making clothes and going for a walk.

I’m super excited to be a part of FAME this year and look forward to meeting you all at our events and around the law school!

Zeta Kelly

Hi everyone my name is Zeta Kelly and I’m a second year Ambassador for FAME!

I’m currently in my second year of my JD and absolutely love all things film and fashion. What drew me to FAME was the exciting opportunity to get to combine not only my love for these areas with my career but learn more about the prospects this field holds. I previously majored in Film and Cultural Studies in my Arts degree, so getting to continue this pursuit in a new capacity particularly interested me.

Outside of studying, you’ll most likely find me shopping and trying to keep up to date with what’s happening in the fashion world, or I’ll be watching the newest movies at the cinema.
