2023 Co-Presidents

Sarah Abou-Eid (she/her)

Hi! My name is Sarah and I am one of FAME LSA’s Co-Presidents for 2023. I am so excited to lead alongside Xiao-Xiao this year. We are hoping to foster a creative, fun and relaxed club environment, and spearhead events and initiatives that are informative and enriching!

A little bit about me - I am a lover of classic literature, theatre, Justin Bieber, op shopping, makeup, movies, TikTok, pop culture, cats and anything girly. I’ve watched every 2000s reality TV show imaginable (Paris Hilton My New BFF anybody?) and quote the Kardashians on a daily. I’m also a creative writer - in my glory days I was a Wattpad famous fan-fiction author.

I am in my third year of the JD and am super interested in intellectual property law, specifically how it operates within film, music and the art industries. If you see me around, say hi! Or follow my IG and slide into my DMs @sarahaboueid

Xiao-Xiao Kingham (she/her)

My name is Xiao-Xiao and I am one of your FAME LSA Co-Presidents for 2023! I am also many other things: a bookseller, a musical fan, a baker, a lover not a fighter… but most importantly I am a third year JD student that is keen to spearhead some wildly fun and interesting FAME events with our committee this year.

A little bit about me: as a student who completed a Bachelors of Music Performance I honestly entered the JD feeling like a fish out of water. But that feeling quickly went away when I met the plethora of amazing creatives completing the degree alongside me and who, like me, are invested in all things that intersect between the law and the entertainment sector. I’m now so excited to be a part of the 2023 FAME committee as we work to provide a platform for JD students to hone their creative skills, explore legal careers in the arts industries and meet some fascinating industry professionals. In doing so, I am passionate about creating an enjoyable student experience for our members while advocating for diversity and representation at the law school and in the legal sector.

When not stressing about the JD, you’ll possibly find me embroidering, gaming, curling up with a good book or rewatching Everything Everywhere All at Once. I am always keen to meet new people so if you ever see me around campus please don’t hesitate to say hi!

2023 Secretary & Treasurer

Priya Badh (she/her)

Hey! My Name is Priya and I will be FAME’s secretary for 2023. I am a third year JD student with an interest in public law and international governance more generally.

Unlike most of my friends in FAME, I am not creative myself (although I would like to think I am) but I am a consumer of the Arts! I love watching movies and TV shows (including trashy reality TV), going to live theatre shows, concerts, comedy shows and love to read during uni breaks.

I am excited to be apart of the FAME team this year because it allows me to hang out with awesome people that all love the Arts!

Emmanuel Choi (he/him)

Hello! I’m Manny (he/him), a 3rd year JD student and a proud corgi guncle with a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring and Contemporary Writing & Production from the Berklee College of Music. I worked in Los Angeles in the film music industry before finding myself at MLS. My interests span across trying new restaurants, live in concerts, home goods shopping and more!

I am excited to be the Treasurer for FAME because it’s an amazing opportunity to be connected with other like-minded people whilst also delving into IP and Entertainment law in the JD. I am super excited to be working with FAME this year to bring more fun and engaging initiatives to our students!

2023 Careers and Sponsorship & Engagement Directors

Amy Gallichio (she/her)

My name is Amy and I’m FAME’s Careers Director for 2023! I am thrilled to continue working with the team to deliver exciting projects and opportunities to students.

A little bit about me: With an academic background in science, I have a keen interest in the intersection of technology and the arts. Alongside my law studies, I enjoy writing poetry and short-form fiction… and in my spare time, I love learning about fashion and design. I am excited to bring these fields into focus through my work with FAME this year!

Being involved in FAME has inspired me to reconnect with my creative side and explore how I can integrate my passions with my study. Through my role as Careers Director, I hope to support other students along their professional journeys. Committed to sharing meaningful experiences and engaging in creative collaboration, I look forward to working with FAME to make 2023 our best year yet!

Eliza Carey (she/her)

Hey there! My name is Eliza, and I am your Engagement Director for FAME 2023. As a basso last year, I had the best time and learned much from the team. For 2023, I have got some inspiring and exciting events lined up.

I plan to make this FAMES's best year yet with more engagement, interaction, and education on how the arts interact with the law industry. We as students need to see the extent that the JD degree can take us and that it is possible to combine artistic passions with the law one day.

Outside of law, I am a movie fanatic. I love going to the movies regularly and deep diving into the film afterwards. When a blockbuster comes out, you will find me at IMAX in Carlton (maybe watching the same movie more than once). There are some killer blockbusters coming out this year.

If you see me at law school or have any questions, please come and say hi  I always love a chat!

2023 Communications Director & Honorary Member

Tanvi Dhariwal (she/her)

Hello! I’m Tanvi, a second year JD student and the Communications Director for 2023 I did a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Art History and Italian Language & Literature and with minors in Archaeology, Classics, European Studies and Studio Art. I am particularly interested in the intersection of the law and the arts, especially with regards to issues of Cultural Heritage, Provenance, and Ownership in the museum context.

Before the JD, I  worked at art galleries and museums while developing my own art practice. I have been experimenting with drawing and painting my entire life and am currently exploring how to visually manifest the societal pathology of modern and contemporary South Asia, focusing on how the remnants of colonialism and the birth of neocolonialism have shaped Indian border conflicts. I also paint pictures of my friends’ cats and pomegranates.

Come say hi if you see me around!

Robert McIntyre (he/him)

Hiya! My name is Rob McIntyre and I am a third-year/penultimate JD student, previously with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Music Composition from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. This 2022, I am your inaugural Honorary Member!

My interests span across running (I know bear with me), brunching (that’s better), concert-going (ooo culture!), day-road tripping and more! I am a freelance classical-contemporary composer (roberttmcintyre.com) and I also play flute and piano.

I am ecstatic to be your Honorary Member, as I just couldn’t not be involved in FAMELSA for my third year running. It is an awesome gateway to be connected with incredible like-minded people, whilst delving into multi-arts law in the JD and connecting with incredible industry professionals. I aspire to be a lawyer in the arts/entertainment industry representing musicians, whilst also being a professional composer at the same time - somewhat of a quasi-hannah-montana if you like.

If you see me around the law school or wherever, please say hi! x

Ambassadors

Molly Blue (she/her)

Hello! I’m a third year JD student with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications and Film Studies. I’ve spent the past couple of years working in PR and I’m super excited to combine my interests for media and law by being part of the FAME team this year. If you see me around the law school, or want to chat about the latest in pop culture, please come say hello!

Lewis Ironside (he/him)

Hi there! I'm Lewis, one of your FAME Ambassadors for 2023! Currently a first year JD student with an interest in art crime and cultural artifact repatriation.

My pre-MLS days were spent down the road at The Spot, where I did a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Management. But don't worry, my interests don't just lie in money. In the past, I've spent time working in antique houses, and used up all my breadths for art history subjects.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching a movie-length video essay on YouTube, going for a walk in a local park, and scouring Christies' and Sotheby's for art that I will never be able to afford.

Mega excited to be a FAME basso and can't wait to meet you all at any upcoming events!

Victoria Tishchenko (she/her)

Hi everyone! I’m Victoria and I’m one of your Bassos this year. I’m in first year and did my undergrad in Arts majoring in Criminology also at Unimelb.

I’m also your go-to literary critic (catch me on Goodreads with my hot takes) and wannabe fashion nerd (knockoff Haute Le Mode). I’m super interested in Intellectual property and reading about all the wild stuff brands do to protect their IP- like the Hermes NFT trademark battle, what was that?

I’m super excited to contribute to FAME, as there is so much potential for fun and creative ideas and events. The team is amazing and funny so come join us for our shenanigans.

Roisin Whelan (she/her)

Hi! My name is Róisín and I am an Ambassador for FAME this year! I am so excited to be a part of the team for 2023 to support our committee members in delivering events for all things Film, Media, Arts and Entertainment Law to the wider Melbourne Law School community.

For some background, I am a second year JD student. I completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Creative Writing & Media and Communications. During my undergraduate, I discovered a love for screenwriting. I made sure to undertake as many units as possible in the area. Over three years I wrote a TV pilot, a short film, and the exposition to a feature film script. I learnt so much about the business and have since decided to align my career with the industry in any way possible - whether that be in Intellectual Property, Media or Entertainment Law.

You will often find me at Cinema Nova on discount Monday’s to catch new releases and split-screening the Oscar’s livestream with my Property notes. I also replace all seasonal measures of time with whenever a new HBO series is coming out.

FAME is the best place for more right-side thinkers to have a place to shine throughout their journey at MLS. I can’t wait to help the team promote our events lined up for 2023 and share with members the possibilities available when the creative industries and the law intersect.

Zeta Kelly (she/her)

Hi guys I’m Zeta and I’m one of your 2023 FAME ambassadors! I’m so excited to be one of your reps this year and get to deliver all things film, art, media and more to you all!

I’m a first year JD student and completed my Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne with a double major in screen and cultural studies and criminology! I’ve always loved film and fashion and try to find every opportunity to join the two when possible!

You’ll either find me watching a movie or relaxing with a coffee!

Alice Dimitroulis (she/her)

Hello! I’m Alice, a first year JD student and the executive team ambassador for 2023.

Before law, I studied a double major in Criminology and Politics and International Relations.

I spend majority of my time listening to music, my favourite genre is rock.

I’ve also played guitar since I was eight so I would say music is a huge part of my life!

Another interest of mine is international film, I watch a lot of movies on Mubi and if I were to choose a favourite it would be either Ponyo or Fallen Angels (at the moment at least!).

Aside from listening to music and watching movies I also enjoy a bit of photography (especially with film), although an expensive hobby, I think it’s fun to capture memories through that medium.

I’m looking forward to working with the FAME LSA team this year to help create some awesome events! It’s been a fantastic experience getting to know everyone and brainstorming some great ideas, and I’m looking forward for what’s to come!

Allison Meyer (she/her)

I’m a first year JD student here and did my undergrad at unimelb with a double major in psych and crim! I am so keen for FAME this year and looking forward to discovering everyone’s hidden artistic talents. If you see me around or wanna go on a cheeky savers run (please) come say hi <33

Chi Wing Wong (she/her)

Hey there! I'm Chi Wing:)) a first-year JD student. Before that, I studied linguistics and psychology for my Bachelor of Arts just across the road!

In my free time, I enjoy painting and baking - they are great ways for me to relax. I also enjoy playing the cello as my hobby! When it comes to movies and dramas, I'm into psychological thrillers and comedies. I also love watching plays in the theatre, which is why I joined FAME:))

I'm sorry to say that I'm not much of a movie buff because it takes me forever to decide what to watch. But when it comes to TV shows, I can get really invested - especially if there are lots of details and plot twists!

I'm really looking forward to being part of FAME and meeting other students who share my interests. See you around the law school!

Tahlia Kelly (she/her)

Hi! I’m Tahlia, one of this year’s FAME Ambassadors! I’m a third-year student who previously did an Arts degree majoring in Politics and Chinese.

During my free time (the tiny amount of time law school affords me), I like to take advantage of the cheap ticket deals at Cinema Nova, knit my cat some fun hats (her name is Eleanor!) and curate some Spotify playlists for niche moods. I’m so excited to work with FAME this year, meet other like-minded students and bring a creative lens to law school!

Please come and say hi if you see me around!
