  • Studio Assistant @ studio legal

    THE POSITION:

    Studio Legal is looking for a gun studio assistant, who is studying their 3rd or 4th year of law. The ideal candidate must have genuine interest in our client industries, which they can demonstrate with real life examples, and must be keen to stay at Studio Legal for the remainder of their law degree.

    Position will start as 1 day a week with room to grow into a 2-3 days a week position, which can be worked around study commitments.

    Preferences given to students studying IP law as well as arts, marketing and/or communications.

    KEY TASKS:

    - Reception duties at our new designer office.

    - Greeting clients and answering phones.

    - Setting up rooms for meetings and clearing rooms ready for next meeting.

    - Assisting with marketing tasks including sourcing permissions, organising interviews, content layout, uploading to platforms and reporting on marketing data to principal.

    - Trade mark admin tasks where required.

    - General admin & legal support duties to support our practice manager, solicitors and the principal.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    You must be well-presented and an excellent verbal and written communicator. You will also be a people person, warm, friendly and have lots of initiative as well as being super organised!

    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Laws (strongly preferred) or Diploma in Legal Studies

    Previous experience working as a Paralegal or qualified 1-2 years PQE lawyer in either a national law firm or in-house legal team, preferably with experience of working with intellectual property rights and/or general commercial matters

    Experience working in the media and entertainment industry, FMCG company or other brand / IP driven business is highly advantageous.

    Key Responsibilities

    Preparing client correspondence, legal documents, engagement letters, and presentations

    Developing and maintaining office filing and database systems

    Ensuring expenses, billing, invoices and timesheets are processed as required

    Providing administrative support which may include arranging and attending meetings, functions, taking and distributing minutes, and making travel and accommodation arrangements

    Engaging with clients and external legal advisors as required

    Assisting team members with various systems and programs, including Microsoft Office

    Organising office processes, office supplies and equipment

    Conducting ad-hoc legal/client research as requested
